Thank you for everyone who has sent get well wishes, I am feeling a lot better now; just have to remember to take it slowly so as not to do too much to quickly. A course of antibiotics and steroids are doing the job, I just wish that my GP had prescribed me them in the first place. I don’t mean to discredit her as she is lovely but I have lived with my body for 30 years and have suffered from chest infections with exacerbation of asthma since I was 7, I know the drill. I understand the whole over prescribing antibiotics/resistant thing ( a bit too much probably being a pharmacy tech and a wannabe microbiologist) but this happens atleast twice a year when the weather changes/new uni semester starts. I got so bad over the weekend that I had to call the doctor out, which could have been unavoidable if I had been given the prescription in the first place. i think it was partyl my fault as I am usually pretty assertive with my doctor’s ( and in fairness to them they are response to this) but on this occasion I was very tired with my ME/CFS, still catching up on sleep missed during the 24hr blood pressure test and was worried about Karl as he was worse than me. Oh well, at least everything is back on track now.

For those of you anxiously awaiting your winnings, they were posted this afternoon first class, so should be with you soon (give or take postal strike or two).

Uni is going surprisingly well, I can’t believe how much more time I have now that I’m part-time, i know this sounds a bit weird but I used to get so tired that I lost so much study time trying to get back on track. I am really enjoying it again and looking forward to lectures and assignments, because I know I have the time to do my best and put 100% into it. I am actually doing more work than when I was full-time as I am not constantly trying to recover in time to rush of fto another day of lectures.  I am only scheduled to be in Uni monday and tuesday morning, but I am hoping to spend these afternoons in library doing study and then I plan go in again to study on a thursday.  I find that I get to easily distracted at home, and procrastinate. It is also good for my ME/CFS for me to have a structured routine, and I think that only having plans on monday and tuesday will result in my sleeping/procrastinaitng too much during the later part of the week and mess up any rountine. At present I have wednesday to recover from monday and tuesay, then friday to recover from thursday and my weekend to prepare for the week. My best friend is in uni all day thursday so I can meet up with her for breaks etc and Karl’s always about as well. It really handy have him on site as I can take my laptop etc with me but leave it with him for breaks/lunch etc so am not burdened with it all day if I want to chill out and knit with a coffee.
